Russians: People of the Country
- 1979 ----- color ----- 31 min ----- 16mm
- To many Soviet intellectuals the village represents what is best of the Russian national traditions and retains many of the values which had been lost in the headlong rush to modernize. To the Soviet authorities, on the other hand, the village with its rather primitive conditions, lack of amenities, unpaved roads, and disappointing production record is an embarrassment they would rather shield from the prying eyes of foreigners. Thus, this film is an unusual view of Soviet life. (Produced by Film Australia)
