Rotating Flows
- 1970 ----- color ----- 29 min ----- 16mm/vhs
- Illustrates phenomena associated with rotation of homogenous fluids. Horizontal trajectories in surface gravity waves, low and high-Rossby-number flows around spheres, Taylor walls, normal modes of inertia oscillation, Rossby waves in a cylindrical annulus, viscous Ekman layers and very-low-Rossby-free shear layer flows are included. The subtle interactions of coriolis forces and pressure reaction fields and the vortex tube interpretations of many of the effects are commented on.
