- 1971 ----- color ----- 19 min ----- 16mm
- In the 4 1/2 billion years of history of the earth, continents have fused and parted and dinosaurs have come and gone. Man, who is a recent addition to this history, is now producting carbon dioxide faster than the ocean can absorb it and, at the present rate of consumption, exhausting ores that have taken millions of years to accumulate. The oldest rocks in the world, 4,000 million years, are found in Greenland and help tell the history of the earth. Life began to evolve more than one hundred million years ago but the effect of man on future geological history is yet to be determined.
