- The spark fell in the tinder of smouldering, overcrowded ghettoes. The first acts of lawlessness--looting. The police were slow to react. When help came it was too late. What happened was disaster. Three dead--most of them black. Where in this wasteland do we go from here--how can the Black American aspire to a deserved dignity? Shows that racism is at a dead end--that it is going to be either war or peace between black and white.
