Quiet One, The
- 1950 ----- b & w ----- 66 min ----- 16mm
Portrays the hopeless struggle and poisonous confusion built up in the mind of a ten-year-old boy from the slums of Harlem who was continually denied the feeling of being wanted. He is sent to a correctional school for wayward boys where he becomes one of the quiet ones who build walls of silence around themselves to hide their conflict, fear and bitterness. Shows how the wall is finally pierced. A classic documentary of the period.
