Police Tapes, The
- 1976 ----- b & w ----- 51 min ----- 16mm
- For three months in the spring of 1976, Alan and Susan Raymond rode along with police officers in the nation's highest crime area--the South Bronx. Using special light sensitive equipment, the Raymonds provide a tour of the South Bronx through the eyes and attitudes of police officers. Accompanying the police on their regular patrol from precinct house, squad car, the streets of the South Bronx and into the homes of the community, the filmmakers capture a startingly raw and candid survey of urban crime, violence, brutality and cynical despair seldom, if ever, seen. (NOTE: As this is a 16mm transfer from an original videotape production, the picture quality is not up to usual standards, however the content and quality of the production overcomes this slight technical problem.)
