- Between September 9th and 13th, 1971, the tragic Attica uprising cost the lives of 43 persons. Nine of this number were killed and 80 others were wounded by gun fire during the sixteen minutes it took New York State Police to retake the prison on September 13th. Includes the major findings of the nine member commission appointed at the request of Governor Nelson Rockefeller. Robert B. McKay, Dean of the New York City University School of Law, headed the Attica Commission which interviewed 2,500 persons including 1,600 present and former Attica inmates. This original testimony was videotaped and much has been incorporated into the film. (Produced by Don Dixon)
