- (Nova series) Dr. E. F. Schumacher, originator of the economic concepts which were the basis for the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, explains the meaning of the "energy sink," the use of as much or more energy in building and maintaining power plants than is supplied by those plants. Dr. Schumacher suggests a new approach to industry and agriculture, with examples of the technology he feels must be adopted as an alternative to today's massive, energy-hungry machines.
