- In the arid forests of southern Madagascar, the sifaka, P. V. verreauxi, live in well-defined and largely exclusive territories. Encounters take place along the borders of the territories, generally, in the form of highly energetic, ritualized "battles." Shows locomotion, grooming, dominance, marking behavior and infant/parent relationships.
