- (Japanese Theatre Film) Demonstrates various folk dances of Japan including kiko mai, bon odori, hanagasa odori, kamigata mai and others. Some have accompaniment by samisen which led to creation of the dance form kanbuso (similar to Kabuki) developed in the Edo Period (1603-1867). Characteristics of the dance include the pine tree background, as in Noh, and the dance with more freedom than in Noh. (In Japanese without English subtitles)
