- 1971 ----- color ----- 11 min ----- 16mm
- Demonstrates how there is a strong tendency to perceive changing stimulus patterns as 3-dimensional changes. Professor Gunnar Johansson uses computer generated stimuli and movements of human subjects to show the information necessary to give rise to the percept of 3-dimensionality. Motion patterns, changes of size and changes of length are illustrated alone and in combination and their resulting effects are specified. The demonstrations include human subjects with point-sources of light attached to their limbs folk dancing in a darkened surrounding. The viewer is shown how few cues and the type of cues that are necessary to perceive 3-dimensional changes.
