- Describes the characteristics of moral development from three perspectives: the psychoanalytical theory as introduced by Freud, the social learning theory which contends that children learn through observation and the cognitive developmental theory with emphasis on Piaget's work. A variety of vignettes illustrate stages of moral development and moral reasoning. Additionally, Dr. David Rosenhan describes Lawrence Kohlberg's work with children in which the age of the child was shown to dictate his tolerance level regarding specific moral acts.
