- Presents a tour of a modern oceanographic research vessel with three sea explorers. Shown are the instruments and methods used to determine depth, thickness and layering of sediment layers, sea water temperature and chemical content, speed and direction of currents. Sampling of sea floor sediments, plankton, deep sea fish and other marine life as well as the use of underwater cameras and scuba diving is also shown.
