- As psychologists expand their quest for knowledge, the scope and diversity of research continues to grow dramatically. Underlying this diversity however, are basic rules or methods common to all research. Explores the commonalities by documenting two different experiments: the "fear and affiliation" social psychology experiment by Dr. Stanley Schachter and a physiological psychology experiment on the development of visual motor coordination by Dr. Austin Riesen. The progression from hypothesis through experiment to conclusion is illustrated and explained.
