Men's Lives*
- 1974 ----- color ----- 43 min ----- 16mm
- Growing up male in America is just as problematic as growing up female. One of the main differences between the two sets of problems is that women realized the problem first and now have help from each other in gaining liberation or equilibrium. Males are just beginning to realize that the social definition of maleness is in itself a problem. Explores the background of the two filmmakers, Josh Hanig and Will Roberts, as they retrace the origins of their individual self-images in the Middle West. Their observations of the influences on their early lives could stand as models of the environment forming the image of the American Man.
