Meiosis (HR)

- Following disintegration of the nuclear envelope in prophase, chromosome cell migration to the plate and the subsequent synapsis are shown. As anaphase proceeds, the homologous chromosomes separate and migrate to the division poles to form two haploid cells. A second meiotic division is shown in which centromeres slip, sister chromatids are drawn apart to form a new division plate and a reconstituted nuclear envelope develops.
