Ionization Energy

- (Historical Collection) Presents two methods of measuring ionization energy, photo ionization and electron bombardment. High vacuum system is used with simple conductivity cell. Photoionization of sodium by use of mercury light source and monochromator, electron bombardment method demonstrated with sodium and three inert gases. Shows what occurs on atomic level during ionization process and explains relation of ionization energy to chemical reactivity.
