Hindu Temple Rites: Bathing the Image of God

- (Image India series) Special Utsava-celebration, typical of a minor seasonal festival, is enacted at a small village temple near Madras City. The image of the Lord Vishnu is bathed to cool him from the intense heat. Shows special temple-priests bringing water, sanctifying the cultic instruments, decorating the images, giving the showerbath and adorning the images with regal attire.
