Hindu Procession to the Sea

- (Image India series) Shows the procession--the sacred temple bullock leading the parade, followed by the temple elephant, the staff of priests, musicians and men, women and children of the neighborhood--arrive at the shore and, at the moment the chief deity is immersed in the surf, many of the devotees also plunge into the water, thus bathing away all their accumulated sins in their lifetimes.
