- Rapidly traces the evolution of life up to a modern day hospital birth. Mitosis and meiosis are shown to be the keys to our human biology and DNA is described as the genetic code which provides the genetic range within which specific phenotypes may occur. Among the environmental forces which can affect this early genetic engineering are the nutrition of the mother-to-be, her emotions, physical health and psychological well-being. Humans can not develop in a vacuum and any environment a growing person experiences will leave its mark.
