Gunsmith of Williamsburg
- 1969 ----- color ----- 58 min ----- 16mm
- Documents the manufacture by Master Gunsmith Wallace Gusler of a rifle of the 1770 period. From iron such as was mined, smelted and forged in Virginia mills of that time, he forms and welds the barrel, then drills and rifles it. Similarly, the gunsmith makes every other part of the gun--forging and filing all components of the lock, casting brass parts, making screws and bolts and forming the maple stock. Engraving and carving skills are shown in detail.
