Gulfstream
- 1983 ----- color ----- 28 min ----- 16mm
- The Gulf Stream is a blue ribbon of life that flows along the east coast of North America affecting the climate and weather patterns of continents on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. From a satellite's macrocosmic view to the microcosmic inspection of tiny irridescent underwater creatures, this film reveals the life support systems that contribute to life on this planet. From the deck of a small trimaran we follow the course of the current as it flows north and experience firsthand the weather systems it encounters. Infrared satellite photographs and animated drawings reveal how the Gulf Stream is driven by the sun, wind and the turning of the planet.
