Galileo: The Challenge of Reason
- 1970 ----- color ----- 25 min ----- 16mm
- The questioning mind of man has led to some of the world's greatest discoveries yet it was this very attribute, the basis of our modern concept of scientific thinking, that plagued Galileo in his lifelong conflicts with established ideas (ie. the Church) and finally led to his trial as a heretic in 1632. By dramatizing, in human terms, the confrontation between one individual and the establishment, Galileo becomes the focus of the conflict between new scientific thinking and religious authority based on faith alone.
