- (Phase Equilibria series) Graphically demonstrates the development of binary phase diagrams from free energy curves. Relates the change in Gibbs Free Energy to increasing temperature in a one-component system. Relationship of the summary curve to the curves for the crystalline, liquid and gas phases. The contribution of composition as well as temperature is demonstrated for a binary system. This is extended to the free energy surface of G-T-X space, to show how minimum criteria are used to generate the phase diagram.
