From the heroism of the Revolutionary War through the battles against slavery, racism, sexism, Victorian prudery and the exploitation of labor, the film offers a tribute to women who have helped shape American destiny: Sybil Ludington, Deborah Sampson, Abigail Adams, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Belva Lockwood, Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, "Mother" Mary Harris Jones and Rose Parks.
