Equipment Descriptions
This is a comprehensive list of all the equipment available at both offices. A few items only are available at the Kane office, as noted in the descriptions.

Both offices have extension cables available for check-out in person. Tripods are available by request with all camcorder reservations.
Laptops

These laptops run Windows Vista and have Microsoft Office 2007 including Visio. They have 4 USB ports, and a CD/DVD drive capable of burning CDs.

The newest of our Dell machines, this laptop runs Windows Vista and is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The computer features a built-in webcam, Bluetooth, a gorgeous LED display, and Wireless-N connectivity.

This 13.3" Macbook has Microsoft Office 2008, Mac OS X Leopard, and iLife '06. They have wireless internet capability, a CD/DVD burning drive, 2 USB ports, and one 6-pin firewire port. The Macbook comes with a miniDVI to VGA adaptor, charger, ethernet cable, and carrying case. Apple Remotes are available by request.

The newest of our Mac laptops, the 13.3" all-aluminum MacBook runs Mac OS X with Microsoft Office 2008, iLife 2009, and iWork 2009. They have a dual-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, and an Airport Extreme wireless card. The laptop features a CD/DVD burning drive and 2 USB 2.0 ports. Please note there is NO firewire port on this MacBook. The MacBook comes with a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter, charger, ethernet cable, and carrying case. Apple Remotes are available by request. These MacBooks are available for 3 business days.

These small remotes connect through USB to your computer to help make PowerPoint or other presentations easier. They also have a built in laser pointer, and are PC and Mac compatible. They come with the USB receiver, the remote, and a carrying case.

This 6 x 8 inch tablet is both Windows and Mac compatible has many great features that enable you to be able to write, draw, or just explore within your computer using a stylus pen that allows for varying levels of sensitivity. Using the two USB ports, you have the option of making it a left-hand or right-hand tablet. This tablet comes in a protective cover, along with the stylus pen, wireless mouse, USB cable, software CD, and different pen tips.

Portable and easily attached to all computers and laptops, these 4 pound scanners come in small cases and can scan documents up to 8.5 x 11.7 inches. They come with a USB cable which provides both the power they need and the connection to the computer or laptop. These items are available for 7 business day checkout. Projectors

Our projectors come with a VGA cable, power cord, and remote control. We also have optional composite and component cables available for VCR/DVD player connections. We have three different models of Hitachi, which are very similar. The seven day checkouts are older projectors. To connect a VGA cable to an Apple brand computer, you need specific adapters. We provide adapters for Macbooks, Macbook Pros, iBooks, and Powerbooks, optional at checkout. Our 3 day projectors have 2000 lumens, and our 7 day projectors have 1200-1500 lumens. The new CP-X206s have 2200 lumens.

Our newest projector has 3,000 lumens and comes with the option of full connectivity using VGA, Component/Composite, HDMI, or S-Video. They come with a power cable, VGA cable, a remote, and a carrying case. Optional component cables, HDMI cables, and S-Video cables are available at check-out. Adaptors for use with Apple laptop computers are also available at checkout.

Digital Camcorders

These MiniDV camcorders are suited for more professional-quality shots than our smaller ZR-850’s. They come with two batteries, cables for transferring files, a remote control, and additional components to modify camera functions. The carrying cases measure 20 x 8 x 16 inches and the full case weighs close to 12 pounds. These cameras are best for professional quality filming but are not as portable as our smaller camcorder. Optional tripod available at checkout. Please note, students must buy a mini-DV tape to record video.

They are light, durable, and come with a built-in shoe mount and coiled output cable to attach to the camera. Must be specifically reserved – camera checkout does not include a Shotgun Microphone.

Projection Screens

This projection screen is 80 inches diagonally and weighs sixteen pounds. The screen can be pulled directly out of the casing and stands up on its own. The casing is around six feet long but is manageable since it is relatively lightweight. This item is available for 3 business day checkout.

Audio Systems

This large audio system comes with two speakers, and a switch-board with a built in CD player. It weighs almost 30 pounds, but it comes on a hand truck for ease of use, along with the power cable, hand-held microphone and cable, speaker cables, and audio cable.
